The paranormal thread

Postby Frank » Fri Apr 06, 2012 8:51 am

I've been listening to the MonsterTalk podcast and enjoying it immensely. Every episode, they take a different monster or other paranormal incident and break it down from a skeptical angle. Most recently, I listened to the episode on the West Virginia Mothman. Good stuff.

The Mothman has been a favorite monster of mine for a while. I haven't seen the Mothman Prophecies movie, but I have read the book by the late great Fortean wacko John Keel. It's quite weird and creepy, despite being almost certainly, almost entirely fictional. Men in black, interdimensional beings, conspiracy, prophecy, and cosmic horror, all started by some teenagers being startled by an owl.

The so-called "first Nessie sighting of 2012" is... uh... less than might be desired. A whole lot less.

A good old-fashioned flying saucer has been reported in California.
