Dutch 'Weed Pass' Upheld: Judge Affirms Plan To Ban Foreigners From Buying Marijuana

THE HAGUE, Netherlands — A Dutch judge on Friday upheld the government's plan to introduce a "weed pass" to prevent foreigners from buying marijuana in coffee shops in the Netherlands.

The pass will roll out in the rest of the country – including Amsterdam – next year. It will turn coffee shops into private clubs with membership open only to Dutch residents and limited to 2,000 per shop.

Yeah, they've been heading that way. I always thought the rest of the world would become more free, like Amsterdam, as time went by, but the opposite is happening.

I'd heard talk a lot about it in recent years, and I know the Netherlands was/is moving "right," but I really never thought this would become a reality solely based on the "tourism" industry and the amount of money it brings (along with prostitution which also headed down the road of reduction in the last few years).
I can still enjoy Holland one more time (later this year) until it becomes a reality all over the country..

The coalition fell, the administration no longer is. Maybe the legislation won't make it into a next administration's plans. Maybe if we keep the christian democrats out of the next coalition, all will stay the way it was.
